Starting of funky with the high notes there :), got surprised by the vocals! Nice touch!
This is a very tasty track, I don't have to say much more than that.

Kind of unique use of the voice, using the vocals more as a melodic part, than a build up like most EDM does now a days. I really like how the styles are mixed up of you three in this one.

thanks mang! glad you liked it! =D

Finally, this is on NG :) (how did I miss this), I think I have already expressed my opinion on this track a dozen of times but I will do it again in review form ;)

The thing I like the most about this whole track (which counts btw for more of Skye's tracks, don't know about Ethan since I haven't checked him/you out that much yet (give me some time, I will check his/your stuff out)) is that I can't seem to detect any patterns since everything is always changing, and there is this continuous transition going on from one place to another.

I knew I was going to love this track when the piano got introduced, it all suddenly made sense. Like really, the piano is great, with the accompanying drums. Jumping from one melody to another, always on edge, and slowly building towards the sudden outburst at 4:14. Magnificent really.

The thing is tho that I don't feel like this is going towards the center of the rainbow. The feeling I get is more nostalgic. A man (or woman, I am not sexist Skye, don't hate me!) which has been too busy with getting the perfect life by getting the perfect degree, perfect job, perfect wife/husband, that he forgot to look around and see the beauty and the burden which is life. He suddenly realizes this and starts enjoying the little things around him, driving him even to return to his hometown. But then like a bubble, it all collapses when at 6:10 work calls again, and he returns to the daily slur.

I am not much of an imaginative person when it comes to music, but this track got to me. Well done Skye and Ethan! This made my week :)

SkyeWint responds:

Hey man! Skye here.

Believe it or not, there actually aren't any patterns. I only really use one sequence of a bunch or midi notes in a row, with some rare exceptions.

No worries about it not necessarily be fitting of a rainbow journey. I'm happy with it being a good song that makes you imagine things! If that's done, my personal goal is complete.

Great track man, wasn't bored for even a second. I really hope you make it to round 2 so we can hear more from you :)

DEM0NW0LF responds:

I wasn't planning on stopping either way :)

Great track mate, it just feels waayy too short! I want to hear ideas develop :D but other than that, great track man.

5TanLey responds:

thanks .. dunno, I like it the way it is :)

Great I was waiting for this one! I know you were working hard on this one.

The build up is long, and somewhat slowly progressing like cinematic music does, but it makes it all worth it when you drop in that sick saxophone. Boy what a treat :).

Main critique is that the dynamics are hard to follow in this track, since you mixed the edmish with the cinematicish.

You got 2 different natural ways this track progress which don't mix together really well (I am not suggesting the genres wouldn't mix, I am suggesting their natural progression don't mix)
At the edm part you used the natural progression of EDM and at the cinematic parts you used the natural way cinematic music progresses.
But since EDM sounds more dominant than the cinematic, I feel you should have used the natural progression of EDM between 3:17 to 5:00, since you sped it up already at the part before, if this makes sense to you. The drop after might sound a bit underwhelming since it is not as much of a surprise it was at 2:30.

I might have been nitpicking here, since I do really enjoy this track and the flourishing melodies :), I am not a sucker for happy music, but this track grows on me nonetheless everytime I press play.

Good job on this one, I hope we will meet in the quarters!

EctiBot responds:

Thanks for the review and the feedback you gave in discord as well :).
What you're saying about the natural progession of EDM makes a lot of sense, and that's probably the biggest issue I had with this track. Really wish I had done something about it before the deadline. My goal was to make the track seamlessly transition between two very different styles, but that's something I still have to work a lot on. Thanks for the feedback :D!

Never heard your stuff, but thought I should check you out since I might meet you (if I make it that far), next round :).

The composition starts real slow and manages to grasp the full attention of the listener. Slowly you progress into a more active piece, starting with the violin/strings. Then at around 1:40 you manage to instantly satisfy at least me with the main melody, which I really adore! Good job. Then you break it down and build it up to 2:54 with more melody stuff in contrast to the build up before, which was more a build up into something more climactic. The end is really clever :)

I had to relisten on this on my headphones instead of my speakers to hear all the little details going around 3:40 and I must say this track works a lot better for me on headphones.

Some minor things you could've done differently:
-The ambient sounds in the beginning (the chirpy cricket sound, not the "highway in the distance) sound) feel like they are a bit too frequent, especcially when the first few instruments start to develop.
-I didn't really like the gong sound at 2:54, but I am not really able to get my head around why it is I don't like it. Feel free to skip this point since I am not even able to give any proper reason for not liking it.
-The choir at 3:23 mix nicely into the rest of the mix, but seem to lack a bit of power/warmth compared to the rest of the instruments. This is nothing track breaking tho.

Okay I have totally nitpicked there, and overal I think this is very good, I honestly hope you will make it to next round!

papkee responds:

Chalk it up to my still-developing mastering ability, but I do notice that speakers don't tend to do it as much justice as a good pair of headphones. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sick

SkyeWint responds:

cancer

I feel like I don't deserve to be in this contest the way you talk about the contestants :O

I want to wish everyone participating goodluck, and I hope I will meet you all within this contest ;)

ChronoNomad responds:

While I appreciate your humility, you have earned your spot in the Round of 64! There's a reason why you're still in the NGADM, and I'm looking forward to hearing your entry. :D

That's a fine spirit of friendly competition. I have no doubt that this will continue to be an impressive Audio Deathmatch, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Great track! It really takes you away around the 1 minute mark! Also great use of high quality aesthetic pleasing samples :)

Looks like you will be my competition this year! Goodluck :)

JeremyKingVA responds:

Thank you very much, and likewise!
